CONTENT WARNINGS
We understand that some content may be inappropriate for children or triggering for sensitive audience members. Below is a list of content disclaimers for our upcoming MainStage productions.
romeo and juliet (JUNE 19-JULY 19, 2026)
NO CHILDREN UNDER 13 PERMITTED. ALL MINORS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
If Dingbat Theatre Project's production of Romeo and Juliet were a film, it would be rated R. Our production of Romeo and Juliet takes place in an adult queer nightclub with drag queens, drag kings, burlesque artists, and striptease performance.
GENERAL: The production contains nicotine free cigarette smoking, nicotine free vape cigarettes, atmospheric haze, and strobing lights.
SUBSTANCES: There is brief, casual alcohol consumption. Characters smoke cigarettes and marijuana (fake) other characters vape. Some characters snort harder drugs.
SEXUAL SITUATIONS: Romeo and Juliet is, at its core, about young adult sexuality. Some characters will appear in states of undress throughout the production (down to thong and pasties). There are burlesque and striptease acts as well as an anatomically correct silicone breastplate.
PROFANITY: Shakespearean insults. LGBTQIA+ slurs like "f****t," "d**e," and "t****y." Improvised usages of "f**k," "s**t," etc.
VIOLENCE: Romeo and Juliet contains famously violent moments. There is a fist fight in the first act. Three deaths by knife/sword fight. Two unsuccessful suicides attempts. One suicide by poison, another suicide by stabbing. There is talk of sexual violence.

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! (July 31-august 30)
GENERAL: Schoolhouse Rock Live! is intended for family audiences of all ages. That being said, the show is 70 minutes in length and children attending should be able to sit through the entire performance. At regular performances of this show there may be sudden loud noises, strobing lights, and atmospheric haze.
CONTENT: In regards to content, there isn't anything objectionable present. There are mentions of guns in some songs about American History and some content might feel be a little dated depending on your sensibility. If you have concerns, we recommend listening to and watching Schoolhouse Rock videos on YouTube to do your own research. We hope this story and these songs spark conversation in families about education, diversity, inclusion, and the history of our country.
SENSORY FRIENDLY PERFORMANCE: We will have a sensory friendly performance of Schoolhouse Rock Live! on Sunday, August 16 at 2:00 p.m. This performance is more relaxed: house lights will remain on, the sound will be quieter, and audience members will be able to more freely express themselves throughout the performance.
