Auditions for our Fall production of Mean Girls the Musical will be held Friday, June 12 5:30-9:30p. Reach out to us at [email protected] to schedule your appointment. We also accept online submissions.
The show runs October 2-November 1 with the option to extend through November 8. We have performances Fridays-Sundays only. Our first rehearsal is August 17. Please prepare a 32-bar cut in the contemporary musical theatre or pop style. An accompanist will be provided. Callbacks be held on Saturday, June 13 and Saturday, June 20. We encourage performers of all ethnicities, races, body types, gender identities, sexualities, etc to audition. Dingbat Theatre Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to LGBTQIA+ visibility, as such we have an ongoing commitment to gender conscious and inclusive casting. Note from the director: Y’all, these girls sing HIGH. If you are interested in being considered for Regina, Cady, and/or Janis please select a piece that shows off your high belt. Gretchen and Karen sing high too, but it’s not as crazy. We are looking to cast actors who are ages 18 and up to play high schoolers. If you are under 18, you can still audition and be cast, but we can’t consider you for roles like Regina, Cady, or Karen.
Available roles:
CADY HERON - New girl on the block. Sings up to Gb5. Must be at least 18.
REGINA GEORGE - Queen Bee of the plastics. Regal and sexy. Sings up to Gb5. Must be at least 18.
JANIS IAN - “Art freak” and social outcast. Sings up to F5
DAMIAN - Outgoing, dramatic, and friendly. Does not have to tap dance.
GRETCHEN WEINERS - Fragile and neurotic with glimpses of sweetness.
KAREN SMITH - Kind, relaxed, generous. A little dumb, a lot hot. Must be 18
AARON SAMUELS - Heartthrob with good moral compass.
KEVIN G - Hilarious and driven. Competent rapper/mover.
ENSEMBLE - Casting 6-8 Actors to fill out the ensemble and understudy principal roles.
The roles of MS. GEORGE, MS. NORBURY, MS. HERON, and MR. DUVALL have been cast.
