AUDITIONS FOR URINETOWN AND LYSISTRATA
We are accepting auditions virtually through December 1, 2024. Those interested should send their headshot, resume (if you have one), and a link to an unlisted YouTube of you singing a verse and chorus of a song in the style of the show to [email protected]. If you are only auditioning for Lysistrata, you may submit a verse and chorus of a song that showcases your acting ability or a 1-2 comedic monologue. If you’ve never worked with Dingbat before, tell us about you! If needed, in-person call-backs will be held at a later date. Actors should be available for evening rehearsals during the week and possible afternoon or evening rehearsals on the weekends. All actors receive a travel stipend for participating in the production.
URINETOWN
Director: Amanda Heisey
“In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom.”

Director: Darah Woomert
“Lysistrata is a hilarious farce adapted from the classical greek comedy by Aristophanes featuring an all female and non-binary identifying cast. In an effort to end the war ravaging their community, Lysistrata enlists the help of the women of Athens to refuse sex and intimacy from their partners until they see reason and end the senseless fighting. Dingbat infuses this fast-paced play with modern language and popular music.”
Rehearsals for Lysistrata begin in February with performances beginning March 14 through 23, with the option to extend through March 30. All roles are open to everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, size, etc. We are looking at casting exclusively female-identifying, female presenting, and non-binary performers.

We are looking at casting 6-10 adult performers to play multiple roles who are comfortable with the mature material to play all the roles in the production.
